Oz Cloggie | My Amplify

't Was so pleasant, today, to be part of a stream of people, who'd come to see the works of Picasso, in the NSW Art Gallery in Sydney. A very warm, summer's day a perfect setting.
A wonderful connection with this artist, in this case (to me anyway) not TOO far back in history.
Having 'had a go' at painting, mainly in oils, myself, I possibly viewed the works from a different perspective than I would have, in the past.
Thank goodness for artists (of all kinds!).

Myriam is looking for Dutch friends she knew, in Scheyville, 1960/1961.

Myriam is Belgian and her parents migrated to Australia in 1960. They were in Bonegilla camp and then were sent to Scheyville where they stayed till it closed. They were accommodated near the Dutch people, in the blocks not far from the school. Her best friends were Dutch girls, Helen and Marion whose parents had left Indonesia, after experiencing the Japanese camps.
Helen's mother used to make those Dutch sweets, "Hopjes", on Wednesdays. Myriam liked them very much! They had a TV and Myriam... more

Dutch-Australians - (in NSW) - Let us gather somewhere convenient!

Consider the concept of facilitating the establishment of a ‘Hub’ where Dutch-Australian historical archives can be kept for future reference. Where those that are interested may come and research their ‘Dutch connections’. A place where displaying exhibits of art and records, photographs and perhaps verbal stories of immigration experiences, here in Australia, is facilitated.
This HUB can also become a focal point of the ‘Dutch’ connection – past or future. This is to be a place... more

Not in Australia 55 years to represent Dutch commercial interests. Just comfortable about representing me and my background.......

More Australian than Dutch.

Still not finished with Remi and Vitalis.

Coming closer to finishing yet another "take" on Remi and Vitalis, Hector Malot's characters with whom I grew up, in Gouda, the Netherlands, through A.D. Hildebrand's translation of Sans Famille, Alleen op de Wereld. URL:  www.linkedin.com
